Community Spotlight: Santa Clarita Valley, California

Meetups originally held at the Santa Clarita Public Library (Old Town Branch) in the southeast part of the Santa Clarita Valley in Newhall, California. As we build the WordPress Community in northern Los Angeles County, we convene at area Starbucks or Barnes & Noble. We hope to hold future meetups in the meeting facility at the College of the Canyons here in Valencia.

We offer two flavors of monthly meetups: 1) is our weeknight meetup which is geared toward our professional members (mid to advanced level); and 2) our Saturday meetup is for beginning to mid-level users but both flavors are open to all.

Our topics have ranged in all areas of the WordPress open source project for Themes, Plugins, Page Builders, Gutenberg, and more.

We began our meetup in January 2019 and it grew out of a desire to have WordPress Meetups and events that didn’t require a thirty to sixty-minute commute into Los Angeles or other points south.
Our group is new but we have some awesome and eclectic members – a former politician, a community activist turned website builder, and father and son with a medical equipment business building a WooCommerce store, and more. We’re enthusiastic about all things WordPress and like the amusement park our area is known for, we’re all along for a fun ride.
