They are very small country with meetups that gather more than one hundred people! And it has been said that this community’s passion is credited for bringing WordCamp Europe 2018 to Belgrade.

Everyone who attended WordCamp Europe this year in Belgrade, Serbia felt that the experience was “surreal” – some stated that they never felt this safe and welcoming before. Others claimed that the event and the locals had so much positive energy. And everyone agreed that the food was unbelievable.
This kinda captures the essence of the Serbia WordPress community. In a region divided by so many issues we decided to focus on what brings us together – WordPress. We nurtured an inclusive environment where a person can ask for advice and give one in return. We became friends with one another outside meetups. We built bridges to other WordPress communities in the region; bridges that span the ideological, political and ethnic gaps that keep us divided in everyday life.
If I had to sum up the Serbia WordPress community in one word, it would be camaraderie. And food. It’s so amazing.

  1. Wow! An active WordPress community and good food, too? I’m putting Serbia on my list of places to visit. Maybe I can attend a meetup there. I’m new to the WordPress community, but am delighted and inspired to see the level of global reach and collaboration.

  2. Hi all,

Thanks for the kind words Sheri 🙂

Regarding the food Mike, Luca Sartoni once said that the 3 most important things in Serbia are Food, Food and Food 🙂

We will be happy to have you here as a speaker on some of our meetups where you can share your WordPress experience with us.
